Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can: what we need to sell you formbar and keep your licence working.
The short version
- Your designs never leave your computer. formbar has no telemetry and no analytics.
- getformbar.com has no tracking, no ads, no analytics and no marketing cookies.
- We keep your email address, what you bought, and which computers your licence is on.
- Payments go through Paddle, our reseller. We never see your card number.
- We only send you news if you ask for it, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
- You can see, correct or delete your data by emailing hello@getformbar.com.
Who is responsible
Bram Labs ApS, Fragevej 58, 4760 Vordingborg, Denmark, CVR 45916022, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@getformbar.com.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in, deliver your licence and receipts, and tell you about things that affect your licence. | Contract | While you have an account |
| Sign-in codes (stored scrambled) | To check the code you type. | Contract | Deleted within a day |
Sign-in cookie (fb_session) | To keep you signed in. It is the only cookie we set, and it is needed for the account to work. | Contract | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount and Paddle's reference numbers | To deliver and support your licence, handle refunds, and keep the accounts the law requires. | Contract; legal obligation (bookkeeping) | 5 years after the end of the financial year, as Danish bookkeeping law requires |
| Your licence and computers: licence key, and for each activated computer its name (as set on the computer), operating system, formbar version, an anonymous computer ID, and when it was activated and last checked in | To show you your computers, enforce the 3-computer limit, and stop licences being shared. | Contract; our legitimate interest in preventing piracy | While you have an account |
| Stay updated: your email address, when you signed up and, if you do, when you unsubscribed; from the sign-up form also a keyed one-way hash of your IP address | To email you about new versions and formbar news, only if you asked for it; the hash limits sign-ups from one place, against abuse. | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time | Until you unsubscribe, then kept as a record that you did; an unconfirmed sign-up is deleted after a week, the hash after about an hour's use |
| Activation requests: a keyed one-way hash of your IP address | To limit how many activation requests can come from one place, against abuse. | Legitimate interest in preventing abuse | About an hour |
The anonymous computer ID is a one-way hash of an ID your operating system already has. We can't turn it back into the original, and it says nothing about you or what's on your computer.
What the formbar app sends
Only these, and only to getformbar.com:
- When you activate a computer: the computer's name, operating system, formbar version and anonymous computer ID.
- At most once a day, when you're online: its licence file (your email, licence key and anonymous computer ID), to pick up a renewal or notice that the computer was removed from your licence.
- When you remove a computer in the app: the same licence file.
formbar never sends your designs, files, usage, crash reports or anything else. There is no telemetry and no analytics. If you use formbar's AI-agent server, it runs on your own computer, and what your agent does with your data is between you and your agent's provider.
This website
getformbar.com uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, no ads and no third-party cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own site. Like every website, our hosting provider handles your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks.
Who else handles your data
We use a few providers who process data for us under data processing agreements:
- Cloudflare: hosts the website, the account system and its database.
- Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd in the United Kingdom; Paddle.com Inc for buyers in the United States): our reseller and the Merchant of Record for every order. Paddle takes the payment, handles tax and sends the receipt, and collects your payment details and billing address itself as a controller in its own right; seePaddle's privacy policy. The checkout page loads Paddle's script from paddle.com; no other page does.
- Resend: delivers our emails (sign-in codes, licences, and updates if you asked for them).
Some of these providers are based in, or use services in, the United States. Those transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to get it in a portable format. Email hello@getformbar.com from the address on your account. We'll answer within a month.
If you delete your account, we delete your email address, licences and computers. We keep the purchase records that bookkeeping law requires, for as long as it requires. Deleting your account ends your ability to activate formbar on new computers, so please download what you need first.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency,Datatilsynet, or to the authority where you live.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page, and email you if the change matters to you.
